We envision a campus community where food insecurity no longer exists, and every student can focus on learning, wellbeing, and growth without worrying about their next meal.
Food as a Right: We believe that every student deserves food regardless of their financial means.
Dignity & Accessibility: We believe that all students deserve access to our food resources in a welcoming space without facing stigma. We believe access to food is key to dismantling opressive power structures by enabling more students to pursue education with less financial barriers.
Environmental Responsibility:
We work with on campus gardens to obtain hyper-local produce, repurpose scraps by transforming them, use produce deemed unfit for grocery stores for aesthetic reasons (no plants are ugly to us), compost, and operate on the principle of wasting as little as possible.
Community Care: We strive to create a community around free and healthy food where students feel welcome. We are an anti-oppressive space that welcomes people from all backgrounds and of all identities. We have a zero tolerance policy for discriminatory speech or actions of any kind. Our programs are built with students, for students, and prioritize mutual aid.
Accountability: We try to be as transparent in our governance and operations as possible. Please see our governance and policies page for more information.
